About Me

Colleen Kilbreath is currently in her junior year at Colby-Sawyer College, where she is pursuing an undergraduate degree in Studio Art. She is simultaneously pursuing a second major in American Studies (War Experience in the Arts). Kilbreath plans to graduate in Fall 2021.

Previously, Kilbreath earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Mount Union (1993). After graduation, Kilbreath enrolled as a graduate student at Kent State University, where she received her Master’s degree in English Language and Literature/Letters in 1998.

Interests

Kilbreath’s academic pursuits are informed by her passion for art and literature. Her primary artistic focus and interest lie in portraiture and the visual representation of American lives. This includes a strong interest in the rivaling depictions of American personalities in biographies, memoirs, short stories, and poetry.

Colleen Kilbreath also has a long-held fascination with and passion for German Longhaired Pointers, a popular breed of hunting dog known for their versatility. She enjoys both training and hunt-testing this unique hunting breed.

When not immersed in studying or training, Kilbreath donates her time to the Upper Valley Humane Society in Enfield, New Hampshire. She also enjoys playing tennis.

Future Plans & Career Objectives

After graduation, Kilbreath plans on either pursuing a career in the field of museum studies (concentrating primarily in the war experience) or directly working with military veterans at Veteran's Affairs.

Currently, Kilbreath is completing an internship and creating portraits of Veterans of the Armed Services. In addition, she is preparing for her very own art show, which will take place in October 2021.
